FROM TATTOOS TO THE CHAIR.
John Greenhaw spent years as a tattoo artist before switching to barbering. The path to opening Wimberley Barber Co. wasn't planned — it just happened.
He was working out of a back room at a salon near the high school — no windows, no natural light. When the space at the Vineyard Shopping Center came up, he took it. He wanted a real barbershop environment. He got one.
The chairs are from the 1930s and 1940s. Most of what's on the walls came from his house. He'd had a barber chair in his living room for years. His wife was glad to be rid of it. The shop wasn't a business plan — it was a personality finally finding the right room.
